A resident of the Village of Lyons, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, Christopher Getty is very active in the community as a business owner and elected official. He is president of Getty Insurance, a company that has been in his family since 1972, and offers property and casualty coverage. Christopher Getty also helped found the Lyons-McCook Business Association. Since 2017, Mr. Getty has served as the Supervisor of the Township of Lyons, which includes a wide range of businesses, 17 municipalities, and more than 115,000 residents. In this role, he oversees the Township board and manages the town’s funds and its general assistance program. Since 2009, Christopher Getty has functioned as the Mayor of the Village of Lyons, one of the communities within the Township. He helped restore the Village’s finances to be structurally and fiscally balanced after deficit spending by previous administrations. He also launched the area’s largest capital and infrastructure modernization investment plan. To better serve his constituents, Mr. Getty belongs to the West Central Municipal Conference, a regional council of governments. He also served as treasurer of the Lyons Township Mental Health Commission, which invests $4 million annually to fund good mental health throughout Lyons Township.
